Restorative Services at the Safehouse

February 13, 2026

At the heart of Prism Project’s Safehouse Program is a deeply compassionate approach to healing for child survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Our long-term residential program offers trauma-informed, wrap-around restorative care where girls ages 12–17 can begin to heal, rediscover their identity, and grow in safety and stability.

A child entering the Safehouse receives comprehensive support in one place—housing and food, 24/7 care from trained trauma-informed staff, daily life skills coaching, individualized education plans with on-site support, multiple therapy appointments each week, and medical care including exams and ongoing health needs. Spiritual and emotional care is also woven into daily life, empowering each young person to pursue healing at her own pace.

We continue to invest in the thoughtful expansion of our grounds and facilities to further cultivate an environment centered on healing, restoration, and hope. With more than 150 acres of natural space available to us, we are intentionally exploring ways to steward and utilize these physical resources to create meaningful, therapeutic opportunities for survivors. Our goal is to design spaces that encourage reflection, renewal, personal growth, and a renewed sense of safety — ensuring that every acre supports our commitment to long-term healing and transformation. In addition to our sheep and vegetable gardens future projects include walking paths, outdoor gazebo area, and nature observation areas.

Another important part of what makes this care trusted and effective is that Prism Project is CARF Accredited, demonstrating compliance with rigorous international standards for quality and accountability in residential treatment for children and adolescents. This accreditation matters because it shows our commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and high-quality care for those we serve. This year we are working to pursue safe house specific accreditation that would further our quality of care and standards of services to survivors of human trafficking.

Our commitment extends beyond the walls of the Safehouse itself. Long before a child arrives, Prism Project’s mission begins with prevention and community education — equipping families, organizations, and community members to recognize the signs of trafficking, intervene early, and protect vulnerable youth. By raising awareness and offering proactive educational initiatives, we work to reduce the risk of exploitation before it occurs.

Likewise, our care does not end when a youth leaves our program. As residents prepare to transition, we provide individualized next-step planning, caregiver support, and strong connections to community-based services to promote stability and continued growth. Our goal is not only to provide safety in moments of crisis, but to help build thriving futures rooted in strength, resilience, and hope.
