Changing Lives
Safehouse Treatment Program
Every survivor deserves a safe place to land.
At Prism Project, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to heal in a place where they are safe, valued, and surrounded by compassionate care. Our Safehouse Treatment Program provides comprehensive, trauma-informed residential services for child survivors of human trafficking in a secure, nurturing environment designed to support long-term healing, restoration, and hope.
From the moment a child enters our care, they receive individualized, wraparound services in a home-like setting. Each resident is provided with safe housing, nutritious meals, and 24/7 support from trained trauma-informed staff. Our team walks alongside each child as she develops essential life skills, builds healthy relationships, and works toward a healthy, free, and independent future— while honoring each child’s individual journey and pace of healing.
Our Services Include:
-24/7 residential care in a home-like setting
-Trauma-focused individual, group, and family therapy
-Nursing support and coordination of medical, dental, vision, and behavioral healthcare
-Educational services and individualized learning support
-Life skills development and independent living coaching
-Case management and individualized treatment planning
-Family engagement, support, and reunification planning when appropriate
-Spiritual care and opportunities for personal faith development
-Comprehensive discharge planning
-Up to one year of aftercare services following a planned discharge to support continued stability and long-term success
Every aspect of our program is intentionally designed to foster safety, connection, and resilience while supporting each young survivor’s individual path toward healing.
A Healing Environment
Healing extends beyond the walls of a home. Prism Project continues to thoughtfully invest in the expansion of our campus to create spaces that promote peace, reflection, restoration, and hope.
With more than 150 acres of natural property, we are intentionally developing therapeutic outdoor environments that complement the healing process. Current features include our sheep and vegetable gardens, providing opportunities for connection, responsibility, and hands-on learning. Future projects include walking trails, quiet nature observation areas, and an outdoor gazebo designed for reflection, counseling, and community.
Every improvement to our campus is guided by one purpose: creating an environment where children can experience safety, discover new strengths, and envision a brighter future.
Quality Standards
Prism Project is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-informed care for every child we serve. We are honored to be the first Safe House Project Certified Program in Michigan and one of only five certified programs in the United States serving child and adolescent survivors of human trafficking.
In Summer 2026, we proudly renewed our three-year CARF Accreditation for residential treatment services and achieved Safe House Project Certification, reflecting our commitment to specialized, trafficking-specific care and adherence to nationally recognized standards and best practices.
Prism Project is also licensed through the State of Michigan, ensuring our program meets state requirements for the care and protection of children in residential treatment.
Referrals
