Since becoming a nonprofit in 2019, Prism Project has been guided by a bold and compassionate vision: to create safe, restorative spaces where children survivors of human trafficking can heal, grow, and reclaim their futures. What began as a calling quickly became years of dedicated work—renovating a home, building a trauma-informed program, and navigating the licensing process. In 2022, after a full year of completing renovations, hiring and training teams and direct care staff, we reached a critical milestone; our Safehouse Program was licensed. Following in February 2023, we opened our doors and began providing residential services to girls in need of long-term restorative care.
While we are deeply proud of how far we’ve come, our vision continues to expand. Prism Project’s long-term goals include developing independent living and transitional programming to support youth as they move toward adulthood, as well as emergency placement and stabilization services for children who need immediate safety and care. We also hold a strong commitment to expanding services to serve boys, recognizing the urgent and often unmet needs of male survivors.
Beyond direct services, Prism Project envisions becoming a mentorship and support resource for other organizations seeking to launch survivor-centered programs. By sharing hard-earned wisdom, best practices, and lessons learned, we hope to strengthen the broader movement to end human trafficking and improve care nationwide.
None of this vision can be realized alone. Partnerships are at the heart of our mission and can take many forms—supporting programming, prayer, strategic partnerships and investments, volunteer projects, and meaningful community involvement. Together, we can build sustainable, life-changing services and ensure survivors receive the comprehensive care and support they deserve.
The journey has not been easy, but it has been purposeful. With continued collaboration and shared commitment, Prism Project will keep growing—bringing light, hope, and healing to survivors and communities for years to come.
