Each year, our community comes together to shine hope into the lives of child survivors of human trafficking and exploitation here in Michigan. This event raises critical support for direly needed services, empowering healing, resilience, and restored futures for those who have experienced unimaginable trauma.
2024’s gala was particularly inspiring as we welcomed Rachel Timothy, a Lived Experience Expert, author, and survivor whose advocacy and partnership have deeply influenced our program’s approach to trauma-informed care. Rachel’s story of survival, healing, and purpose—notably shared in her powerful book Open Blind Eyes—brings authentic insight and encouragement to survivors and service providers alike. Her work with Stop Suffering in Silence educates communities about trauma and trafficking while emphasizing the power of healing in community and faith.
