PRISM PROJECT SAFEHOUSE PROGRAM OPEN

Prism Project Safehouse Program has officially opened and is receiving its first arrivals

WE DID IT! After over 4 years of collaborative effort, Prism Project has officially opened its long-term safehouse restorative program in Genesee County and is receiving its first arrivals this week. The first of its kind in Michigan, this program provides a safe place where child survivors of sexual exploitation and/or sex trafficking can come to heal from this complex trauma, on their time, with a loving team of professionally trained care providers. The program serves girls ages 12-17 with trauma-informed, victim-centered care anywhere from 6 months to 2 years depending on their individual plan of care. The circle of care includes Medical, Educational, Therapy, Spiritual, and Life Skills all in one place. In an effort to not further exploit the children and families we serve we provide this limited information regarding the safehouse.

“It’s hard to put into words the fact that this started out as a dream and has come to fruition, and all of the moving parts that have come together to make this happen. I’m honored to provide a safe place for these girls to heal and grow.”
~ Executive Director, Sylvia Blythe

“We have youth in our community, and families in our community, that are impacted by human tracking every single day. Families and children need the opportunity to heal and learn skills that will help them be successful, healthy, and contributing adults to our communities. We are honored and thrilled to serve in this capacity.”

~ Chief Administrator, Holly Halabicky

Prism Project is also hosting its 2023 Shine the Light Gala on Friday, March 24th at the Genesys Conference & Banquet Center. Rev. Christina Tipton, co-founder of Tipton Ministries, will be presenting “The Secrets of Social Media,” and all proceeds from the evening will benefit Prism Project Safehouse Program, providing restorative services to child survivors of sex trafficking.
